After engagements at the Staatstheater Mainz, Theater Osnabrück, and Theater Dortmund, Almerija Delic became a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Nürnberg starting with the 2018/2019 season. Guest appearances have taken the mezzo-soprano to venues such as the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Staatstheater Meiningen, Theater Heidelberg, Theater Kiel, Theater Erfurt, MIR Gelsenkirchen, Theater Magdeburg, the Schwetzinger Festspiele (performing Re:igen by B. Lang), the Eutiner Festspiele, and as Ottavia (L’Incoronazione di Poppea) at the Ars & Musica Antiqua Festival.
She has also performed at the NOW Festival of the Essen Philharmonic, the Zeche Zollverein, the Mercatorhalle Duisburg, the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, and the Ludwigsburg Festival.
Her signature repertoire includes roles such as Carmen (Carmen), Judith (Bluebeard’s Castle), Preziosilla (La Forza del Destino), Adalgisa (Norma), Amneris (Aida), Eboli (Don Carlo), Azucena (Il Trovatore), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), and Kundry (Parsifal).
Notable conductors she has worked with include Joana Mallwitz, Valentin Uryupin, Roland Böer, Patrik Ringborg, Michael Hofstetter, Attilio Cremonesi, Elias Grandy, Srba Dinic, Gabriel Feltz, Andreas Hotz, Daniel Inbal, Wolfgang Katschner, Catherine Rückwardt, and Christian Rieger. Important scenic collaborations have been with Adriana Altaras, Jochen Biganzoli, Peter Konwitschny, Immo Karaman, Peer Boysen, David Hermann, Georges Delnon, Matthias Fontheim, John Fulljames, Tatjana Gürbaca, Jens-Daniel Herzog, Stefan Huber, Bruno Klimek, Yona Kim, Ilaria Lanzino, Nina Russi, Tilmann Knabe, Florian Lutz, Bernd Mottl, Otto Pichler, and Flores Visser.
One of her artistic focuses lies in contemporary music, for which she has also performed in numerous song programs. She has worked intensively with composers such as Bernhard Lang, Salvatore Sciarrino, Sidney Corbett, Karlheinz Essl, Gordon Kampe, Peter Kiefer, H. K. Gruber, Dirk Reith, Gerald Resch, Wolfgang Rihm, and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
Almerija Delic studied voice at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, the Mainz University of Music, and the KUG Graz. She is a prizewinner of national and international singing competitions and has received numerous scholarships, including those from Forum Tiberius, Villa Musica, the Richard Wagner Association, and the Walter Kaminsky Foundation.
